Stella eBook and Feature Story
Posted by Jeremy Hay Draude on Dec 07, 2012
Catherine Porter-- who has written a number of stories about Mishi, Aimee, and Stella for the Toronto Star-- followed the Bruner-Methven family throughout Stella's illness. She has published an eBook about this incredible family, available at the Star Dispatches.
Also, keep an eye on the Toronto Star over the next few days, where Stella's story will be told in a three part feature.

I have been reading your story (the Star article and this blog)for the last week- non stop. It has drawn me in so deep and has affected my life in such a way I cannot describe. I have cried and laughed along with you both and your family. I am sorry about Stella. I will remember her story for a very very long time. I am amazed at how well you both can write about your life the last 19 months. So articulate, so honest, so much feeling. You should write a novel/biography about her. Thank you for opening up your life. I will look for Stella stars in the sky, Riverdale Farm and many places around the world. If I find one, I will let you know. Keep inspiring all around you and keep living.

Wanted to say thank you so much for sharing your story. A friend of mine, Kathy Howes told me about it. She was surprised that I didn't know since we live close by. She is doing the ride to conquer cancer and after reading your story I've offered to help her raise money. I have a little girl who will be 2 April 15th. She is a handful, never stops moving! I know that Stella's legacy for me will be to remind me how lucky I am to be a mother to this little force and to enjoy every minute. Your story reminds us all to be a bit more patient, kind and caring and to enjoy every minute. I thank you so much and my heart goes out to you. Know that she will always be remembered and honoured

That story and the video are so wonderful and awful and so perfect to see. I love you all, although I haven't met you. And I will always remember your little girl. Sweet Stella. I will always remember her.

Mishi and Aimee,
Wishing that the pain we, all the strangers out here in cyber space, feel could help alleviate some of yours. We're still with you everyday. This site is still part of my morning ritual as now I come to check in on Stella's family, see how the boys are growing and see how you remarkable ladies are doing.
Wishing you peace and joy this holiday season.
Merry Christmas, may 2013 be full of new beginnings and wonderful memories of your girl!
Thank you again for sharing your story.

Thank you for showing the raw love between yourselves and your precious girl. As a mother to a three and a half year old it's inspiring, for those moments of frustration, to recognize how precious everything is.

I read all three parts and also downloaded the ebook. I have followed your blog since the first article in the star when Ellen came to town. Once again you are both amazing mothers with a truly amazing daughter! Thank you for allowing us an even closer look into your life and a chance to almost feel like we know you. Hearing and watching instead of reading makes me feel even more touched by your family and honoured to have followed Stella's journey. Your daughter will never be forgotten, I think of her daily, talk like I know her and pray that she is happy and taking care of you as you did for her. Thank you again, you are truly an inspiration to me.
